Mandi Mendoza Recognized for Leadership and Advocacy in the Honorary Commander Program
Mandi Mendoza - Advocacy in Action

We are thrilled to celebrate Mandi Mendoza, Chief Advocacy Officer and Delaware Housing Program Director, for an outstanding year of advocacy, leadership, and engagement with the United States Air Force through the Honorary Commander Program.
Throughout the past year, Mandi had the unique opportunity to immerse herself in a variety of units on base, gaining a deeper understanding of the vital roles each plays in supporting the mission of the Air Force. Units included Operations, Medical, Mission Support, Mission Generation & Maintenance, and AFMAO/AFMES/JPED. From learning about flight operations and air traffic control to exploring medical services, mission support, aircraft maintenance, and even Mortuary Affairs, Mandi gained firsthand insight into the complex work that keeps our Air Force running smoothly.
In addition to learning from these units, Mandi brought her expertise as an advocate, educating service members on identifying and supporting victims of trafficking and raising awareness about critical resources both on and off base. Her advocacy helped bridge the gap between military operations and survivor support, reinforcing the importance of trauma-informed leadership in all spaces.
Last night, Mandi’s dedication and impact were formally recognized with a certificate from the Honorary Commander Program, honoring her for her leadership, engagement, and commitment to service. This recognition reflects not only her professional accomplishments but also her personal dedication to supporting survivors and creating meaningful change in the community.
Mandi Mendoza’s work exemplifies how advocacy, education, and leadership can come together to make a tangible difference. We are proud to celebrate her achievements and her ongoing commitment to both service members and survivors alike.
