House Bill 1033

The state of Virginia is one of only 6 states without expungement law to help confirmed human trafficking victims. House Bill 268 would allow confirmed victims of human trafficking to have charges they incurred as a result of their trafficking situation, such as prostitution, removed from their criminal record. Victims find it hard to gain employment and housing due to these types of charges.

The bill will be voted on at the upcoming session. Please contact your representative to let them know victims deserve justice. Click below to learn more and find your representative.
